A digital magazine is the highest-value thing you can build in Canva. It's the
format sponsors actually pay for, the lead magnet people finish instead of
abandoning, and the only document where a reader taps a link while they're
still excited about what they just read.
And there is one checkbox sitting quietly in Canva's download menu that
switches every single one of those links off. The file still looks perfect.
That's why almost nobody catches it.
In this tutorial we build a complete digital magazine: sized for screens, on a
grid you reuse forever, with a contents page that jumps, links that survive the
export, and three genuinely different ways to deliver it.
⚠️ The one thing to know: **Flatten PDF** bakes every layer down into a flat
image and strips every hyperlink out of the document. Your sponsor links, your
product links, your entire contents page — dead, in a file that looks
completely fine. Leave it unticked every single time.
🧭 And the thing no tutorial admits: **Canva has no page-turn.** Not on free,
not on Pro, not anywhere. Every Canva "flipbook" video is Canva → a PDF → a
completely separate tool that reads that PDF.
